A Message to the Dream Chasers

First blog. First post. On the real, I have no clue what this blog is gonna turn into. I debated whether it would be hip hop based, or more social/political. I decided though, to let go of any expectations and just let shit flow however it may. No rules, restrictions or guidelines.

On that note, an introduction is necessary.

J. Cole. Rapper and Producer out of Fayetteville, North Carolina. I spent my college years in NYC at St. John's University. I used college as the tool to move closer to the music industry, as music has been my dream since 13. Now graduated (Magna Cum Laude, holla), all energies are devoted to the steady climb to the top.

I still represent the Ville in all of my music. It's important that I give all due respect and loyalty to the city and state that molded me through all of my experiences. It's my ultimate dream to see my city shine along with the many other talented artists coming out of the region. No doubt it's gonna happen. I'ma see to it.

My first mixtape is now out and available for download. It's called "The Come Up" and is hosted by DJ On Point. download here for free http://www.zshare.net/download/1065071662ed466f/

With that said, stick with me. It's gonna be a crazy journey.

it's so nice to see your first blog post. but even more nice to see that you actually have a blog. please, stay grounded and foccused. apart from the old school hip-hop dons i.e jay-z, slick rick, common, biggie, pac, your the only one keepin it real for todays generation.. your such an inspiring figure, i've been a fan from day one, watching your interviews is great because i feel asthough your intellect is being shared with the audience, me. please don't let your fans down and turn mainstream.. never ever ever. everyone starts with good intentions, but hey, everyones after the dollar, which is understandable, look at how our surroundings create an addiction for the 'paper'. dont let society and the ideology of the music industry push you into the commerical hip-hop cliche, because your too good for that.. good beyond belief. i hope you read this and it brings you strength whenever you need it. i've been truley blessed with your music. please come to London. heard you might be coming with MR A. Roth? i really hope so. don't be losing your balance ;) signed, your biggest fan.

you taught me to follow my dreams cuz you never know whats gonna happen. even though you'll prolly never read this and it sounds weird coming from a fan, im proud of you cole. thanks for all the shit you've done for me and the rest of the dreamvillains. we still got more history to make though.
